The two countries are unlikely to have greater confrontation since "for purely economic reasons, it is not convenient for them to enter into a dangerous escalation," said Carrion.
"I fully agree and support Wang's opposition to (U.S. Secretary of State Mike) Pompeo's assertion that the policy of engagement with China pursued by successive U.S. administrations has failed, and his call for advancing the relationship through cooperation," Sylwester Szafarz, former consul general of Poland in the Chinese city of Shanghai, told Xinhua.
China has no intention to fight a "diplomatic war" with the U.S. side as it will only hurt the interests of the two peoples even more, Wang said.
During his visit, Pompeo repeated his anti-China agenda while talking about cooperation with the Czech Republic on 5G security and nuclear power plant construction. He claimed that using technologies from China and Russia would pose a "danger" to the sovereignty and security of the Czech Republic.
"It is neither necessary nor possible for the two sides to change each other. Instead, we should respect the choice independently made by the people of the other side," he said.
Greater Accra Regional Minister Ishmael Ashitey expressed gratitude to the provincial government and people of Fujian for their continued support for Ghana.
